Soul folk with a penchant for the flavours of ska would probably like to know that NEVILLE STAPLES is all set to release a brand new album. The self-styled “Original Rude Boy” will launch ‘Ska Crazy’ on July 21st on Cleopatra Records.
The ex Specials vocalist and toaster is rightly proud of his new work: “I am so pleased to have put this album together as it includes some old time classic favourites which I grew up with and to which I have added some original rude boy flavour.”
After 35 years in the business, Staples is still at the forefront of the ska movement and will be touring to promote the album in the autumn.
In the meantime his autobiography ‘The Original Rude Boy’ (published by Aurum Press in 2009) is still available.
