SINGULARLY SOULFUL!

Ace/Kent Records continue to release plenty of eminently rare and collectable on quality 7″ vinyl. The UK reissue specialists have just issued some fine tunes across a number of imprints… they include Nancy Wilcox’s ‘He’ll Be Leaving You’/ Lorraine Chandler’s ‘Mend The Torn Pieces’ on Kent/Pied Piper and Elaine Armstrong’s ‘Tears Begin To Fall’/ Betty Moorer’s ‘Speed Up’ on the main Kent/City logo. The Betty Moorer track is very strong and will appeal to fans of harmony group The Esquires. They back up Betty on this Chicago soul classic.

Best news though is that Ace/Kent continues their revival of the dear old Deep Soul label via two new 45s…. Jaibi’s ‘You Got Me’/ The Hesitations ‘Gotta Find A Way’ and Little Ann’s ‘Deep Shadows’/ The Turn Arounds’ ‘Stay Away’. The Jaibi track was a particular favourite of the Deep Soul label founder Dave Godin and no self-respecting soul home should be without one!
