We first heard of American soulstress LATRESE BUSH via a track on Expansion’s 2016 ‘Luxury Soul’ album. Her tune, ‘The Best’, was a slinky, smooth ballad that was very much in the manner of Anita Baker. Since then we’ve had several more singles (including a Christmas one) and a gorgeous duet with Noel Gourdin – ‘Because Of You’.
Now for reasons not best explained, Ms Bush’s ‘The Best’ is being re-promoted with extra guitar input from Eric Essix and it still sounds good. So if the Anita Baker sensual soul-jazz thing is your thing, you may want to investigate
