FUNK DELUXE is yet one more vehicle for the multi-talented RANDY MULLER and together the team have resurrected a veritable disco oldie… Skyy’s ‘Show Me The Way’. The song first appeared on the that band’s ‘Skylight’ album but now Randy and the funkateers rename it ‘Show Me Da Way’ – a subtle change, yes, but in the Robbie Casa remix it retains all the original’s dance floor attraction.
It’s a solid groove with a retro feel and a committed femme vocal (anonymous on my copy). The tune is already featuring on the UK soul breakers chart and it’s out now on Plaza Records NYC. Their people say: “this outing is a finely calibrated mix of the classic and contemporary, arriving just in time for a brave new world to take to the dance floor.” Amen to that!
