At the back end of 2014 we told you all about BEY BRIGHT – a New York based music all rounder whose company , Bey Bright Inc. exists “to motivate, educate & entertain the masses through written works, musical compositions and lectures ” . The project we highlighted back then was an EP called ‘Nu Indie Soul Volume 2’ and the lead track – a sultry soul shuffle called ‘Holdin’ On’ featuring a committed vocal from Nia Simmons – won loadsa airplay from the more discerning soul jocks.
Bey is now gearing up to release another soul EP – ‘The Sound Of Indie Soul’ with the lead cut being a fab, little head nodder, ‘Who Can Explain’. It really is one the most infectious grooves that we’ve heard this year and it will remind you of something very familiar but, for the life of you, you won’t be able to say what! Yep, it’s one of those tunes.
Apart from the melody, the tight production and the beats, the cut’s other main attraction is the sweet yet sultry and soulful vocal from Caronne Jones. We know nothing about her, but we’d love to hear more!
The EP, ‘The Sound Of Indie Soul’ should be available via Bright Vision Entertainment from June.
