Seems like quite a while since we’ve enjoyed new music from the lovely LINDSEY WEBSTER, New York’s lauded smooth jazz/blue eyed soulstress. My memory’s not what it was, but I think it was 2020 when Ms W released her last album, ‘A Woman Like Me’.
The good news is that we’ve learned that Lindsey’s on her way back with a soon-to-be-here album. To whet appetites, she’s just released the first single – a lovely, laid-back but sensual ‘I Didn’t Mean It’.
The track is made up of all the ingredients that made her previous work so enticing and as a bonus, ‘I Didn’t Mean It’ features some wonderfully lugubrious trombone from Brian Culbertson (who also did the track’s killer horn arrangement) . Lindsey’s long-time partner and collaborator Keith Slattery’s in there too with tasteful piano and keyboard fills.
No real news on that new album yet, but the quality of ‘I Didn’t Mean It’ is a wonderful augury!
