LAST BASTION RECORDS are pleased to report that their very special, new 45 – SHARON JONES and the DAP KINGS’ ‘New Shoes’ (vocal and instrumental ) is now almost good to go!
As reported a week or so ago Last Bastion have licensed the tracks from Daptone – quite a coup… the first time than an indie UK label has released vinyl from that iconic set up!
Sharon’s ‘New Shoes’ first appeared on her 2011 compilation album ‘Soul Time’ and if you know it, you’ll know that it really does capture the essence and soulfulness of proper Northern sou. The instrumental which graces the B side is previousy unissued in any format.
This new 7” will be released in a strictly limited edition of just 300. Right now it’s up for pre-order from Detour Records (Last Bastion’s official outlet) to old customers who have already purchased Last Bastion’s last two singles – February’s Dojo Cuts’ disc and Monica Rocha’s June release. The 45 will then go on general sale from November 5th… that’s if there any left.
