Fans of PAUL CARRACK who like to digest album sleeve notes will have noticed that on one of the cuts (‘Make It Right’) on his last LP – ‘Good Feeling’ (see our review) – the writing credits were down to the brothers ROLF and ALEX TINLIN. The Chiltern-based siblings, though, not only write – they are also performers … going out under the family name, TINLIN and they’ve just released their latest album – ‘Shade Of The Shadows’.
The 12 tracker is a pleasing acoustic pop set featuring the brothers’ superb, instinctive harmonies. Yes, it’s not a soul album in any way – but there’s a heartfelt and soulful undertow to songs like ‘Find A Way’ and ‘Don’t Want To Sleep Alone’.
