The progress of US retro soul group THE SEXTONES has been one of this year’s revelations and serious soul collectors wait expectantly for the release of their upcoming (September) album, ‘Love Can’t Be Borrowed’.
We’ve already has a few tasters – most recently ‘Beck and Call’, the sweetest of sweet ballads with a falsetto lead, supported by harmonies and sweeping strings. And here’s the thing, though the Sextones are pacted to Italian label, Record Kicks, ‘Beck And Call’ was licensed and released by Colemine Records.
Now the good folk at Colemine tell us that the song has just been officially released on 7” vinyl. The disc’s B side is another album track and another lovely, harmony ballad ‘Daydream’.
