Geneva-based, Texas-born soul man RUDI WILBURN is currently winning favour with his latest single, the Barry White flavoured ‘These Are The Days’. A collaboration with Alan Glass, Yannic Fonderie and Vic Pitts, the cut shows that great modern soul doesn’t need to be too complex or clever. Pleasing melody, sympathetic arrangement, soulful delivery, ‘These Are The Days’ (in both the original and Colin Watson mixes) ticks all the boxes!
But if you do like things a little more intriguing and experimental, you need to investigate the new T Groove Dub mix of ‘These Are The Days’. Sans most of the vocals and with a booming, driving bass line it might remind you of 80s dub versions of stuff like Sharon Redd’s ‘Beat The Street’ and Shannon’s ‘Let The Music Play’. The song’s cleverly been re-titled ‘These Are The Dubs’ and it will be officially available on DSG Records from 8th July
