KERBSIDE COLLECTION is a top Aussie soul and funk instrumental band. They debuted in 2013 with Mind The Curb’ – a spirited and lively 8 tracker that reflected the then band’s line up’s penchant for the soul jazz sounds of people like Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith. Over time the band’s sound has subtly changed and last year, the band released the well-received LP, ‘Round The Corner’ – a funky and soulful collection that has now been reissued in a remixed format.
The remixers who’ve been let loose on the album include people like Risperson (from down under live boogie-house grooves group – First Beige), Blunted Stylus, DJ Toby Gee and German break and beats remixer Renegades Of Jazz. They offer a new piano-led, space aged perspective on ’Cairo Green’.
The album proves that there’s a lot going on soul and funk wise in the land down under, but if you’re a regular visitor to SJF you’ll know that already!
