Noted blues maven and five-time Grammy-winner, ROBERT CRAY, is due to tour the UK with his band in April and May. He begins his nine-date tour at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival on April 29th and concludes on Tuesday 9th May at The Sage in Gateshead. In between he is due to visit Liverpool, Edinburgh, London, Salisbury, Guildford, Birmingham, and Buxton (see below for the full tour itinerary).
Georgia-born Cray, now 63, began his recording career back in 1980 and quickly went on to establish himself as the pre-eminent blues master of his generation. He played alongside Rolling Stone Keith Richards in a backing band assembled for the late Chuck Berry for the 1987 movie, Hail! Hail! Rock And Roll. Cray has also played alongside Eric Clapton, Albert Collins, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and is also an inductee of the Blues Hall Of Fame.
Cray’s latest album is 2015’s ‘4 Nights Of 40 Years Live’ but a new project, his 22nd long player, is already in the pipeline.
