It’s taken a while but Brit soulstress DEBORAH BELL is finally winning the plaudits she richly deserves. Ms B has been working in the crazy soul biz for almost 20 years collaborating with people like Light of the World, Beggar & Co, Kenny Thomas, Jaki Graham, Odyssey and most recently with Georgie B and his Groove Association.
Deborah started working with Groove Association back in 2013 taking lead on a number of their songs and providing BVs behind leader George Bromfield on others. Working with George, her first solo album ‘Close Your Eyes’ hit the No1 spot in both the Independent Soul Chart and the UK Soul Chart and last year Deborah topped the singles chart with her sophisticated remake of Jaki Graham’s ‘Round and Around’. Adding to that success she also won ‘Bright Star Award’ for Best Soul /RnB single for ‘Dancing In Heaven’ with Georgie B.
Right now Deborah’s enjoying more chart success with her latest single, the sweet and lovely ”Love Won’t Pay The Rent’ which is shaping up to be a big summer anthem and the good news is that a new album’s on the way soon… we look forward to that!
