Northampton isn’t a place that most people would associate with soul and funk music but the town is home to a new reissue label, Funky Town Grooves. The label specialises in reissuing rare, collectible and out-of-print ’80s funk and soul albums as is putting them out as remastered mid-price limited edition pressings. In just a short time Funky Town Grooves has revived a slew of desirable ’80s R&B titles, including many albums originally released on Jerry Greenberg’s Mirage label.
