Back in 2019 soul man RAHSAAN PATTERSON made a comeback of sorts with the album ‘Heroes And Gods’. We say “comeback” because the LP was the singer’s first offering for something like 8 years.
Now as we wait for more new material from the always impressive yet enigmatic Patterson, two tunes from ‘Heroes And Gods’ and just been remixed by lauded mixer house producer Quentin Harris who’s worked his magic with a plethora of names – most famously from our perspective Toni Braxton and Mariah Carey.
The tunes in question are ‘Heroes And Gods’ and ‘I Try’ and both are given a hugely percussive, electro makeover by Harris. They offer width, intrigue and imagination – chiming in with Patterson’s own view of his craft. He says: “I am more than a classic R&B person. I have an exploratory nature in life and that dynamic is also reflected in my music”
These new mixes are out now via Shanachie Music.
