NIVA is a soul singer from Houston, Texas and she’s proud to label herself “NIVA, THE SOUL DIVA”. Last year she made some waves with her ‘Numb’ single – a controversial tune that dealt with domestic violence.
Her latest release is a whole lot brighter. ‘Let Me Be Your Radio’ is a tight, upbeat modern soul groove with just a whiff of Bobby Womack about it. Maybe it’s the authentic soul guitar sound which, interestingly, comes from Johnny Guitar Watson Junior. Or, maybe it’s the fact that ‘Let Me Be Your Radio’ is an analogue recording and uses no virtual instruments, no auto tune and no pitch correction… or maybe it’s just because it’s a great old school soul jam!
