London band THE FANTASTICS! are currently working on a new album, ‘Take A Shot’ and from that they’re about to unleash a single – ‘Pyramid’ … a moody, jazzy instrumental in the manner of Pharaoh Sanders / Coltrane /Airto Moreira. Lead on the cut is Mark Norton’s ethereal sax.
The single comes with two bonus tracks – ‘Oblique’ which is a showcase for organist Greg Boraman and with wordless vocal from ex Brand New Heavy Sulene Fleming and ‘Liquor & Poker’ – a homage to 1950’s organ and sax-led rhythm and blues and a firm favourite in the band’s live shows.
The music will be available via bbe from November 20th.
