We don’t know too much about new singer EMILIE (Cunliffe) but soul tastemakers are tipping her for the top. What we do know is that she’s the daughter of actress/presenter/sometime pop singer Kym Marsh and that she’s appeared on both The Voice and BGT! Her team tell us that she bases her sound on people like Norah Jones, Aretha and Alicia Keys – not bad role models! And, maybe more importantly, super writer/producer/mixer NIGEL LOWIS is in her corner and his soul magic is stamped all over Emilie’s debut single – a sultry, emotive ‘If I Didn’t Stay.
We’re told that Emilie and Nigel are working on an album together – and are sparing no expense to make it a good ‘un .The truth is though with Emilie’s haunting, soulful voice, you’re off to a flyer anyway. Emilie’s ‘If I Didn’t Stay’ is out now and comes recommended!
