While we wait for the promised album from eclectic Californian band  BRAINSTORY, the trio (brothers Kevin and Tony Martin on guitar/vocals and bass, respectfully and drummer Eric Hagstrom) have just released another single that delivers their signature, quirky sound – a melding of 60s/70s West Coast sounds and blue-eyed soul.

This newie is ‘Peach Optimo’  – a woozy paean to youth. It’s a slow roller, produced like their earlier singles by El Michels Affair and it’s maybe more “West Coast” than “blue-eyed soul” – think maybe that classic tune ‘Woodstock’.  It’s out now via Big Crown Records.
