ADAM NAAS is a young Parisian contemporary soul singer who’s just released his first eponymous EP.
24 year old Adam cites his influences as Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill though he also admits a fondness for Destinys Child. He remembers singing along to all their big hits as a kid!
In truth, the mood of the mini album is more Nina than Beyonce! Musically it’s sombre… dark in places, especially on the broody ‘You Should Know’ on which the electronic instrumentation adds to the air of melancholy. ‘Downtown’ is a touch more optimistic but there’s still an eerie, ethereal atmosphere to it.
