‘Only You’ is the latest single from US soul man AL LINDSEY who though born down in Virginia, actually began his singing career in Detroit where his family relocated to when he was a youngster. Al was soon working with Lawrence Payton Jr (son of Four Tops legend and now a member of that band himself) and for the last 30 years or so Al’s carved quite a name for himself on the local circuit.
‘Only You’ is a smooth mid-tempo groove and proffers a convincing vocal (a soulful rasp like David Ruffin and Ali Woodson); both groove and vocal attack betray Al’s experience in the soul business. Out 25th March.
