ON THE RADIO….

Working in and around Washington DC, DEBORAH BOND has an impressive music CV. She has a clutch of solo albums under her belt, she regularly sells out concerts, hosts radio shows, sings sessions and works in musical education.

For the last several years she’s been busy working with Incognito, so it’s no surprise that her latest solo offering is served up via Bluey Maunick’s Splash Blue label. Song in question is simply called “Radio” –  a catchy slice of modern soul with a real vintage feel… the sort of song that would sit beautifully on a classic FM radio show.

Ms Bond tells us that the song is an ode to lost love transformed into a song…. the love dies but the music lives on. The intriguing and intricate percussion comes courtesy of Corey Fonville of the band Butcher Brown while Deborah’s vocal is sweet and emotional, echoing the sounds of her heroes…. Sade, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan and dear old Luther.
