ON THE BORDERLINE…

Last spring plenty of soul tastemakers enthused about a lovely album from Jamaican-born, guitarist, singer and composer CIYO (BROWN). His ‘Can We Pretend’ long player was stuffed with classy, sophisticated soul and smooth jazz (like the album title track – a cover of the Bill Withers classic).

One of the set’s key cuts was the soulful ‘Borderline’ which won plenty of plays and helped win the parent album the number 1 position in two Soul charts and the number 2 spot in the UK National Soul chart! (if you missed the album, do check it out!)

The ‘Borderline’ track remains a soul favourite and to make it even more attractive Ciyo’s team have had it remixed. The new tweak isn’t radically different but there are subtle extras – background vocals, a live horn section, percussion and acoustic guitar… all topped off by Mr B’s sweet and maturely soulful vocals. This is proper grown up soul music and comes recommended .learn more @ https://ciyobrownmusic.com/
