‘Circus Money’ is the title of a brand new album from WALTER BECKER – one half of the iconic STEELY DAN. The album is only BECKER’S second solo effort and comes fourteen years after his last set, ‘Tracks Of Whack’. He calls the delay “a unique career strategy”, but fans of that first collection and the whole STEELY DAN canon won’t be disappointed with the flavours of ‘Circus Money’. The album took almost three years to put together and was produced by LARRY KLEIN, who, of course, helmed last year’s big Grammy winner – HERBIE HANCOCK’S ‘The Joni Letters’. KLEIN described the experience of working with BECKER as, “like playing tennis with John McEnroe… it keeps you on your game”. Returning serve, BECKER says that that KLEIN’S “a kind of a genius producer, who actually waits to make a suggestion until one is needed”. The results of this mighty musical match – ‘Circus Money’ – is released on July 14th on Sonic 360.
