Ian Eagle Ashanti is a young Philadelphia hopeful who describes himself as an “all round entertainer”. He sings, writes (music and movie/stage plays) and acts (he’s a graduate of Philly’s famed Wilma Theatre School).
Right now Ian seems to be concentrating on his singing career as he’s just released his first single – a delightful, retro flavoured ‘When We Were Young’. Ian co-wrote and co-produced the tune with David Jackson and between them they’ve crafted a delightful soul throwback – a sort of mix of classic Motown feel-good music and the sweet soul harmonics of 60’s Chicago. It just works perfectly. Ian says the song was inspired by his memories of high school hops and we guarantee that after a listen or two, your own happy, youthful musical memories will come flooding back.
