THE BAYTREES are a 4-piece indie pop/neo soul band from Brixton, London. They consist of brothers Mensah (Lead Vocal & Guitar) and Kwame Hart (Bass), with friends Marcus Harris (drums & vocal) & Coujoe Ryan (Guitar) and right now they’re busy promoting their latest single, ‘Lover’.
‘Lover’ is an insistent groove with a soul undertow that betrays lead singer and songwriter Mensah’s heroes and influences. He says: “Inspired by Prince, Marvin Gaye, Bootsy Collins and 90s hip hop, ‘Lover’ is all about the funk with soulful harmonies, guitar riffs and a seriously funky bass line. We want ‘Lover’ to make people dance, and to be something people can hear on a night out and sing to each other and ultimately connect over.”
