NEW SOUL REISSUES FROM EDSEL

The UK-based Edsel label is about to unleash a tasty batch of soul reissues.

Fans of ’60s duo, SAM & DAVE, will be pleased that four of the pair’s Atlantic-owned Stax albums will be available as a couple of ‘twofers.’  The classic ‘Hold On, I’m Coming’ set is paired with ‘Double Dynamite’ and also includes three bonus cuts (non-album A and B-sides).

Two more Sam & Dave albums, ‘Soul Men’ and ‘I Thank You’ are now available in a 2-CD package that features seven bonus tracks (the latter comprising non-album 45s and their flipsides).

Also back in circulation are a brace of albums – ‘Felix Cavaliere’ and ‘Destiny,’ the latter produced by Todd Rundgren – that the Young Rascals’ front man, FELIX CAVALIERE, recorded for Bearsville in the mid-’70s. Both albums are brought together on a single CD.

Edsel have also licensed from Sony Music a couple of mid-’80s PHILIP BAILEY albums. Both the ‘Chinese Wall’ – helmed by Phil Collins, who also duets with the Earth, Wind & Fire singer on the set’s big hit, ‘Easy Lover’ – and the Nile Rodgers-produced ‘Inside Out’ are available as a 2-CD set.
