NEW, NEW SOUL

DJ MR JAY is a respected UK soul spinner whose roots go way back to 1978 and since then he’s played countless gigs all over the UK and worked in numerous high profile venues.

Jay’s just curated a cool, little five track EP for Mindlab Records….. ‘DJ Mr JAY PRESENTS NEW SOUL Vol. 1’.

The mini album is fronted by a wonderful summer vibe from Nick Eden. Nick’s the great nephew of jazz man John Handy and it’s evident from his cut, ‘Let’s Chill’, that soul and jazz is deep in his DNA

Baltimore’s J soul offers another goodie in the shape of ‘High’ which profits from input from Deborah Bond. J calls himself ‘The Black Sinatra’ and though committed rat packers might well disagree with the moniker, his ‘High’ offers something soulfully mellow.

Other cuts on the EP come from Napolangeles, Chenier Wilson and Philip White and the set’s good to go on all decent digital download sites… and if you’re into indie soul, it come highly recommended.
