Canadian jazz chanteuse and pianist, DIANA KRALL – who’s also the wife of singer/songwriter Elvis Costello – returns with a new album on Verve in June called ‘Quiet Nights.’ Her first long player since 2006’s ‘From This Moment On,’ ‘Quiet Nights’ returns to the lush, introspective, romanticism of 2001’s ‘The Look Of Love’ and features string arrangements by the legendary German maestro Claus Ogerman. Among the twelve songs are Krall’s versions of ‘The Boy From Ipanema,’ ‘Walk On By’ and ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye.’ We at www.soulandjazzandfunk.com have had a sneak preview of the album and can confirm it’s a classy collection that’s right up there with the best of Ms. Krall’s work.
