2023 was a great year for soulstress supreme NATASHA WATTS. Her album ‘Music Is My Life’ was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful – something that is rare these days. Then to top it all she headlined the Luxury Soul Weekender in fine style!
Her onwards and upwards trajectory is set to continue with the late February release of ‘Music Is My Life – The Remix Package’. That title says it all – the original LP gets “remixed” – simple! The featured remixers include Atjazz, Bedfunk, Ziggy Funk, Beat Rivals, Dj Soulchild, Dave Doyle, and Yamwho; between them, they take the original album to new heights – delivering fresh perspectives and diverse flavours whilst retaining all the joy and soulfulness of the original.
You can sample some of the magic via a new single that pairs new mixes of ‘Feels Like Sunshine’ with ‘Part Of My Life’. The former is reimagined by Yamwho and Laurent Schark who crank up the beats to deliver a pacey dancer that sweeps along sweetly. DJ Soulchild is at the controls for the new tweak of ‘Part Of My Life’. The original was a smooth affair which now becomes a much bumpier ride – different yes (like a proper remix) but just as appealing and maybe a tad more exciting!
Whatever… both these previews auger well for ‘Music Is My Life – The Remix Package’ which, we believe, will be good to go February 23rd initially through Bandcamp.
