Back in March respected UK soul stylist NATASHA WATTS released an unusual album. The music wasn’t “unusual”, of course; the tracks on ‘Music Is My Life’ was a collection of classy contemporary soul grooves that showed Ms W’s long experience in the business (work with DJ Spen and the Cool Million team and her own previous four solo sets for starters). What was “unusual” was the format. ‘Music Is My Life’ was released in a very limited physical (USB) format and was only available via her website.
Now Natasha’s team tell us the lauded LP is ready for full global release in stores and platforms in August… with limited vinyl to follow and in case you missed it Nat has just released a new single from the set. It’s a gentle but affirmative ‘I Am Me’. She says: “It’s a very personal song about growth, about understanding, and about being able to look in the mirror and accept yourself, warts and all, and to love just exactly who you see. To look back at your journey, and to look forward to the future.”
