Just last month we enthused about a lovely new single from Brit soulstress NATASHA WATTS. It was an ab fab, lively, breezy ‘Brighter Days’ – a cut offering real optimism in this mightily troubled world. No wonder it was played out over and over by all the best soul stations. A more “up” tune would be hard to find.
We were told that ‘Brighter Days’ was the lead single from an upcoming long player, and the good news is that said LP, ‘Music Is My Life’ is almost good to go. Indeed, it becomes officially available, this Friday, 24th February and it’s up for pre-order right now.
Sneak previews reveal that focus cuts seem to be ‘Right The Wrong’ and ‘I Do, I Did, I’m Done’ – both great examples of contemporary Brit soul at its very best. Everything about both cuts is just bob on and are proof that in this crazy soul game experience counts for a lot. Remember, for many years Natasha’s graced countless big, anthemic soul and soulful house productions, most notably alongside DJ Spen and the Cool Million collective. She also, of course, has her own work to be proud of too, including the classic album, ‘2nd Time Around’ long player.
Our previews reveal that ‘Music Is My Life’ is every bit as good as the acclaimed ‘2nd Time Around’ and to make the release even more special, Ms W has invested in some clever packaging (see above) which will ensure the initial release will become a proper collectors’ item.
