One of last year’s most sought after soul box sets was ‘The Motown 7s Box’ – a superb 7″ vinyl collection of 7 Motown singles with each A and B side being a previously unreleased or hard-to-find label gem.

Collectors will be delighted to now that UMC are all set to unleash a second set. June 30th sees the release of ‘The Motown 7s Box, Volume 2’ – which again offers 14 rare and/or unreleased Motown gems across 7 7″ vinyl singles.

As with the first package, this one’s been put together with love and erudition by Motown expert Richard Searling and the cuts include Stevie Wonder’s ‘I Want My Baby Back’, The Velvelettes’ ‘That’s A Funny Way’ and the Originals’ classic ‘Don’t Stop Now’. Listen up too to a superb David Ruffin vocal on the Temptations’ ‘Angel Doll’ and a pair of real gems in the shape of The Spinners’ ‘We’re Gonna Be More Than Friends’ and Kim Weston’s ‘You Can Do It’. Then there’s a certain Mr. Gaye with a memorable ‘My Love For You’.  In truth though there are no duds here – Motown magic all the way!

The set comes complete with a four page booklet while the records themselves have authentic push out centres and contemporary paper sleeves and, because of new technologies, the whole thing comes complete with a download voucher. Unmissable!!!
