ERICA FALLS is a New Orleans based soulstress who’s been around for some time. She made her solo debut in 2012 and she also gigged as vocalist with the band, Galactic.
Ms Falls has just released her third album, ‘Emotions’ which she describes as an exploration of what it was like for black women during the tumult of the pandemic. The album (released via Louisiana Red Hot) is already winning critical acclaim and one track in particular is receiving plenty of plays and plaudits. It’s the gorgeous, sensual ‘Up’ – proper grown up, contemporary soul music. With a chorus hook to die for, if we had a track of the week, this would be the one! ‘Up’ was actually released as the album-heralding single way back but for some reason it seemed to slip under the radar. It sure deserves a re-visit!
