UMC continue their series of highly desirable, limited edition 7″ Motown box sets with the release of Volume 4, a lovely package that offers 14 classic and in-demand tracks from the Motown vaults.
Complied (as ever) by Richard Searling, the artists featured include David Ruffin, The Spinners, The Contours, Bobby Taylor, Thelma Houston, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Shorty Long and Marvin Gaye who offers his fab version of the Spinners’ ‘Sweet Thing’.
As with previous releases, Volume 4 includes a selection of singles, which have never before been released on 7″ vinyl; these include Brenda Holloway’s ‘Can’t Hold The Feelin’ Back’, which see its first ever issue as a physical release.
The box set also offers the facility to download the music and we’ll bring a full review just as soon as we have our copy.
