You’ll remember that in September, QUANTIZE RECORDS treated us to a lovely Afrocentric party groover, ‘Ummah-Ye’ from soulful house vet INAYA DAY.
The cut came in the usual plethora of mixes (five we think) now to add to those you can now enjoy a new tweak from COFLO. Coflo is an experienced and acclaimed mixer best known for his melding of house and Afro-Brazilian martial art Capoeira. His mission statement is to infuse his dance and movement experience into his musical productions. See how’s he’s succeeded by taking one of his two ‘Ummah-Ye’ remixes for a spin around the block!
Both the “straight” tweak and Coflo Beats Fo Ya Feetz Remix are drumcentric (you’d expect that of course!). They’re bold and bassy with a Latino undertow that highlights Ms Day’s captivating vocals. Both mixes clock in at over seven minutes and for the wimps, there’s a radio edit!
