Soul acolytes with (very) long memories will know about a 1983 hit, ‘One Mind Two Hearts’ from Paradise – a music collective headed up by PHIL EDWARDS.
Since then Mr E has worked here, there and every blinking where! His credits can be found on music from people like Gloria Gaynor, Mariah Carey, East 17, Gabrielle, All Saints, The Human League, Mica Paris and many more.
In 2021 he resurrected his Paradise project which he imaginatively named THE PARADISE PROJEX releasing an EP which was followed just last month by a tasty, contemporary soul single, ‘Here And Now’( no, not the Luther classic!).You may know that the song was penned by Phil with Paul Johnson but for this PP version Phil had UK singer singer-songwriter Charlotte Kelly (previously lead singer with Soul II Soul) take the lead vocal.
The song came in three mixes and now just to add a little extra magic Phil has delivered another mix – dubbed the “Magic Nite” mix. This tightens things up a little, adds some jazzy licks, maintains the late night laid-back vibe (the clue’s in the mix’s title) and keeps Ms Kelly’s soulful vocal way up in the mix. No release date yet but it seems that this special mix will come as “bonus” track on the album!
