The world of modern soul and R&B can’t get enough of those good ‘ole Good Vibrations! It was only last week that Bey Bright hit us with his ‘Vibe’ (see news article) and now Detroit singer/songwriter J BROWN brings us his very own ‘Vibe’.
J’s background is in gospel – his father was a preacher; but growing up, he was smitten by the sounds of people like Babyface, Mint Condition, Bell Biv Devoe, New Edition, Jon B and Jaheim and consequently a career in secular music beckoned.
Last year he saw Billboard adult R&B chart action with ‘Sunrise Sunset’ and ‘Moon’ and the brash, bass-heavy, old school, party-style tune that is ‘Vibe’ is set to follow those up the charts. It points to better times ahead. The singer simply says that he “just wanted to have some fun with this single”. Its sure sounds like he did.
