MORE FREEDOM DANCING…

One of last year’s best Brit soul albums was ‘Ancestral Voices’ from the BRIT FUNK ASSOCIATION. Marshalled by soul entrepreneur Fitzroy Facey, the band featured a team of top UK soul men… members of Beggar and Co, Hi Tension, Central Line and Light of the World.

One of the album’s focus tracks (and indeed a chart riding single) was the Kenny Wellington-penned ‘Freedom Dancin’’. It featured chanted vocals, a deep bass line, bouncy brass fills and wild horn soloing… classic Brit Funk!

If you want more of the same you’ll be delighted to know that the band will be delivering a new mix of the song on January 21st. For the new tweak, our old pal Georgie B is at the controls. Now he’s a man who knows his Brit funk; thus he  doesn’t  mess too much with the original. He adds some new perspectives and flavours  and though it sounds a touch gentler (especially at the start), the track builds and builds into a delightful slice of contemporary Brit Funk
