Seems that the great British soul public can’t get enough of ROACHFORD’S uplifting version of Sly’s ‘Family Affair’. The original release set floors (and radio playlists alight) while later mixes from Met Life and Soul Talk kept the momentum on max.
Now, just when you though things were quietening, Roachford hits us with another classy mix of the tune courtesy, this time, of DJ SPEN and his cohorts David Anthony and Bennett Holland.
The trio naturally take the cut into soulful house territory and shine new light onto our man’s big vocal, which we can enjoy a lot more when the parent album (called ‘Encore’) finally arrives…… We’ve been promised March!
