MORE CHARLYS

One of this year’s biggest floor filers has been ‘All Around The World’ from UK-based, Venezuelan band LOS CHARLY’S ORCHESTRA. The tune was (indeed is) a zapping, zippy dancer that mixes classic 80s soul, the funk and feistiness of EWF, swirling Latin rhythms, a sweet melody and the feel of the Salsoul Orchestra in their pomp! Honest!

Now, guess what? The tune’s been remixed by none other than Hungarian mix master Opolopo. It seems that Mr Major (for that’s his real moniker) loved the original and got in touch with the label and offered his remix services. The result is a mash up of essential fast dance grooves and quirky electronic boogie but wisely The Big O keeps all the lovely EWF feeling in Xantone Blacq’s great vocal. The mix is sure to be a Christmas party floor filler and it will be available from November 20th.

Artwork-The_Boogie_Is_BackAnd whilst on the topic of Los Charlys…. main men Juan Laya and Jorge Montiel enjoyed a summer dance floor hit with the catchy ‘Groove On’. Now they’re set to enjoy a bigger hit with the even catchier ‘The Boogie Is Back’. With an authentic vocal from Mikie Blak, the tune will remind you of countless 80s weekender anthems. For maximum impact we reckon you should go for the extended dub edit, but there’s plenty of energy and sole food in the shorter edits too!
