UK jazz guitar man DAVE MASCALL is sure getting plenty of mileage from his tune ‘Carnival Latino’. It anchored his ‘Acid Lounge Vol 5’ LP and a few weeks back we were graced by a new “summer” mix. Now very hot on the heels of that one, Groove Association’s Georgie B has reworked it. It’s sharp and tight, heavily percussive and uses the Azymuth classic ‘Jazz Carnival’ as a sample. You also get bells, whistles and maracas a go-go. Mascall collaborator Julia Quinn’s scat vocals channel the Tania Maria sound and it all adds up to one big samba school party.
