Over the last 18 months or so we’ve featured plenty of music from Hamburg’s ANGELS OF LIBRA. The big band deliver their own quirky take on soul and funk and their latest outing is just that!
It’s a collaboration with Croatian singer MAIIAH (the Angels have worked with here before) and their tune is ‘Kava’. It’s big, brassy, bold and right in your face. Haven’t a clue what it’s about … Ms M sings in Croatian as a homage to her family’s roots.
The PR team tell us its “Balkan Soul” – another sub-genre for us to digest! Apparently there’s a whole album of it on its way! In the meantime ‘Kava’ is good to go now via Waterfall records.
