MISS TIA is an Italian soul and jazz singer. She works solo and as part of the twosome DUO MECCANICO. Several of that duo’s tracks have been selected for the acclaimed Cafe Del Mar compilations; which fact should give you an idea of the sound they craft. Out on her own, MISS TIA still does chill – but in a very particular way.

For her latest solo album – ‘Acoustic Limited Edition’ – she’s chosen ten songs from the 80s and given them a thorough makeover. She’s taken very familiar material like ‘Give Me The Night’ and set it all in a lounge jazz/ambient/chilled out context. Interesting… very. You can bet you’ve never heard AL GREEN’S ‘Let’s Stay Together’ or WHITNEY HOUSTON’S ‘Saving All My Love For You’ like this before. Even more bizarrely there are versions of ‘Eye Of The Tiger’, ‘Video Killed The Radio Star’ and ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’!
