Iconic dance music institution, MINISTRY OF SOUND is releasing an epic 60 track, 3 CD disco compilation at the start of November. The album is stuffed with good time, glitter ball classics representing the whole spectrum of the glitzy, funky sounds that took us to boogie wonderland and back. Amongst the featured tunes are CHIC’S ‘Good Times’, THE O’JAYS’ ‘I Love Music’, GWEN McRAE’S ‘Keep The Fire Burrning’ and THE FATBACK BAND’S ‘Bus Stop’.
Even better is the news that here at SOULANDJAZZANDFUNK, we have five copies of this wonderful confection to give away. As ever (befitting the web’s premier soul site) we’re posing a really hard question (we write with a touch of irony) and all you need to do is fire the answer back to us at our normal e-mail contact address. The first five correct respondents pulled from out of the mythical bobble hat will win the prizes.
So here’s that toughie! One of the key cuts on the compilation is ‘Going Back To My Roots’ by ODYSSEY…. which famous soul man wrote this epic song? Just e-mail your answer before the closing date – November 15th… and we’ll do the rest…. full review of the album here at SJF very soon.
