In May soulstress CANDACE WOODSON treated us to her catchy dance cut, ‘Midas Touch’ (not the Midnight Star tune, nor indeed the Mamas Gun song). The song (subtitled ‘Ooh Ooh’) was written by Candace in tandem with Karey A Davis and the cut was a UK soul chart No. 1.
Then in June it was given a new lease of life via a big, dancefloor friendly mix from Nigel Lowis and now it’s back in a third iteration. This time the new mix gives ‘Midas Touch’ a Steppers vibe and it works perfectly (that man Lowis again!). We’re told the mix was commissioned for the US market but it’s sure to do a bomb over here with all the 2 steppers and modern soul groovers . It’s out now!
