By now you’ll know that this year’s UK Mercury Music prize was won by singer-songwriter MICHAEL KIWANUKA for his third long player, simply called ‘Kiwanuka’. His prize, by the way, apart from the publicity, is a mere £25,000.
Not ones to blow our own trumpets, here @SJF we were amongst the first music media (print and digital) to embrace young Michael at the start of his odyssey. We were fulsome in our praise of his first album back in 2012 and have followed his upward trajectory ever since.
