Hard to believe I know, but mega soul band EARTH WIND AND FIRE are all set to release a Christmas album! Yes… bet you can hardly wait for your heroes to strut their stuff through song like ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Away In A Manger’ ‘cos that’s what’s on the menu of ‘Holiday’ which will be released on October 20th on Legacy Records.
Main man Philip Bailey says, “This album is the band’s first and only holiday music project. We are very proud to offer it as a labour of love to all of our fans. Enjoy and happy holidays from our families to all of yours.” EWF’s co-founder Verdine White adds, “the album was a joy to record, it is a celebration of tradition, love and spirituality and , some of the elements of Earth, Wind & Fire. From our families to yours, we wish you a happy holiday”.
Other songs on the album include ‘The First Noel’, ‘Little Drummer Boy’ and ‘Jingle Bell Rock’. And if you feel a cringe coming on, then be warned… there’s a new song called ‘December’. You might be clever enough to guess that this is a re-working of ‘September’ and features vocals from Maurice White. We can hardly wait!
