Latest release from MANNIX – one of Austria’s top soulful house DJs/Producers – is an insistent electro-fuelled dance groove, ‘Memories of the Past’. Vocalist on the track is fellow Austrian Fiona Barbier whose cool, central Euro styling adds to the peculiar flavour – a far cry from the usual gospel testifying of US based house divas. As ever the tune comes in a welter of mixes. Disco don, Da Lukas offers an Italian house flavour while, still in Italy, Napoli’s Andrea Curato delivers a deeper, bassier vibe. There are, of course, the usual dubs and instrumentals.
