US music sources are agog with news of a new album from MAXWELL. You may remember that over a decade ago the enigmatic soul man began his ‘BlackSummersNight’ trilogy; we believe that the (final?) ‘BlackSummersNIGHT’ section will be issued in 2022, under his new arrangement with BMG.
Maxwell has stated: “From announcing a new partnership with BMG for my label Musze to receiving the Legend Award at the upcoming 2021 Soul Train Awards, I couldn’t be more excited to share this new single with loved ones offering a glimpse into NIGHT.”
That glimpse came via the single ‘Off’ – a typically moody ballad and news of a 2022 US tour.
